Non-Fault And Fault Claims
What is the difference between a "fault"claim and a "non-fault’"claim?
A loss or accident where you are the party considered to be to blame, or your car insurance company can’t recover costs from someone else is classed as a ‘fault claim’. If you are involved in an accident with an uninsured driver, or hit by someone who cannot be traced, it is worth noting that this is also classed as a fault claim.
If your insurer is able to recover the cost from the other party’s insurer it is classed as a ‘non-fault claim’.
