Insured On Two Cars

My partner and I own a car each. Can I be the policyholder on both cars and make my partner an additional named driver on both cars? I do more miles than he does in both cars, as he only has short journeys to work. So, is this legal?

You could be the policyholder on both cars but it would cost more to insure both vehicles as your no claims bonus can only be used on one of the vehicles.

What you can do is advise your Partner’s insurers that you will be the main driver of his vehicle, providing they do not believe that you are a higher insurance risk than your Partner it will not cost too much additional premium.
